I was terribly disappointed by the vintage Amperex which were my favorites a decade ago now I find the midrange is 'way too "fat". Just before the unit went to pcX I was running the JJ E88CC/6922 gold pin which offer a relatively high dose of tube attributes. Of interest maybe is some tube rolling that I did, ( see thread on another forum). While the Line 1 is in the shop, I'm driving my power amp directly from my Topping D90 DAC the sound is quite tolerable but not the same. I dropped it on in person to Parts ConneXion because its only a 1.5 hour drive from my home - safer and quicker than shipping. One way to look at is is, Which high-quality, full function (except phone), fully balanced & differential preamps can one buy for $2100, even used? Not many. This work will probably cost me the equivalent of about US$1200.Ĭonsidering I paid US$900 for the preamp, one may consider whether the upgrades are worth it. My SF Line 1 is into Parts ConneXion for the "SE+" upgrade as well as the Volume control repair and chip upgrade. I'm hoping the the SF Line will preserve more of the inherent transparency than the Freya + - the Line 1 doesn't have a Passive Mode However I also fined that with certain types of music - in particular large-scale orchestra - I loose too much transparency, consequently I end up listening using the Freya +'s Passive Mode, (in my case that doesn't loose any dynamics). I have tried my current Schiit Freya + in Tube Mode which produces tube effects of a mild sort. By the contrast the Purifi is super transparent and resolved and also hyper-dynamic but lacking in warmth. The Monarchys were a high-bias class A type, fairly transparent but a also a bit mellow in presentation. But today I's driving a VTV Audio Purifi stereo amp. I liked back in the day but that was with different associated equipment most of the time I owned it, I was using a pair of Monarchy SM70 Pro's. the Line 1 is whether I will like it today. granted, partly for reason of nostalgia. My concerned re. The first bought in 2009 and sold in 2011.

Warren, that's not an apt comparison by a stretch. My career is built on AE animation and premiere, but this is getting me to consider completely dropping the software and trying to figure something else out of nowhere now, even though there aren't any proper alternatives either. I used to just have problems with specific updates but this is a much bigger problem that I really struggle to ignore. This isn't about just C4D but adobe's practice as a whole. I went to vote for the linked topic up top, but I'd be surprised if that goes anywhere anyway. This is an insane practice that can't be justified at all, if they decided to install other things, how will we be informed? What are our options? To add to this, I am not opposed to C4D integration, but I am opposed to the standalone software being installed (which apparently is not required for the C4D integration to even work in the first place, so why is it even there?Įven though I know that C4D is, having it randomly appear in my computer is still worrying because I don't even know who installed it - I had to google this to find out adobe was installing it on my computer. Yeap, TOS and EULA are not enforceable and are totally pointless, but unless someone can cough up the money and time to sue them we're out of luck. and be polite, civil, and respectful of others.Yeah, Warren, you're insane, please just get out of this discussion. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask that all those posting on this forum comport themselves as an adult. When Ann, Warren, mgrenadier, Richard, a number of the other 'regulars' hop on, you are getting experienced assistance volunteered from people that are both quite knowledgeable in their own pro workflows and good at troubleshooting. I love the old Dirty Harry quote: "A man's got to know his limitations." I assume that of about anyone posting here. But there are SO many complicated and complex parts of this app, where I feel I know (at least to me) nothing or nearly nothing about.Īnd I assume you will have areas you blow my knowledge outta the water. I certainly can't! Like most users, I have areas I know well, some that even the engineers call on for advice. I highly doubt you could match her across the app. The breadth and depth of her continually demonstrated knowledge approaches Jarle Leirpoll, the guy that wrote by far the best most detailed book on pro use of Premiere ever written. Ann has demonstrated over many years of involvement, across so many different aspects of this complicated app, that she has a nearly encylopedic knowledge of the thing. None of us are staffers, paid for the time we put in, or have ANY authority or say in how Adobe, Maxon, or any other company goes about their business.Īs per her posts here. Ann, like nearly everyone posting here, is volunteering a ton of time to help other users. And I would suggest replying to Maxon saying give me some actual usable help. So as Ann suggests, I'd go along with using uninstall from the OS or something on the older Maxon stuff. But I shot back saying this ain't fixing my problem, and within a couple more days got someone responding directly to my troubles. I had an issue during the changeover from RG to Maxon/RG where the license wouldn't recognize it was licensed.Īnd yea, I got the type of response you got. their first response tends to be 1) a bit slow and 2) rather pedantic, like your post above. All again only the most recent.Īs to Maxon's help. I've the full RG Universe, a few other things. So it is puzzling to me why there's so much older Maxon on your rig. and my Maxon/RedGiant stuff is only the latest versions. Just help people get the work out the door under the situation that exists at any one moment. We're not here to praise or criticize any one or any company. We aren't staffers for anyone, and can't set any decisions by anyone either Adobe or any other entity. Which is all most of us around here care about. As a practical note, most of your last post is either gibberish or irrelevant to getting this functioning on your machine. Most current studies and scientific investigations are centered on how to protect seashore with an efficient and cost-effective system. The proposed ANN model is a significant advance in that it can be used to predict 3D wave pattern around submerged breakwaters in the range of dimensionless Cartesian coordinate -0.It is critical to protect coastal and offshore structures. A simplified version of the numerical model and wave prediction scheme is provided in this thesis for practical applications. These demonstrate the accuracy and reliability of the model and its capability in predicting the wave field around submerged breakwaters. The evaluations showed more consistency between the measured experimental data and predictions from the ANN model in comparison to those from the Boussinesq wave model. The Boussinesq wave model was found to overestimate wave-induced breaking dissipation over the crest of the submerged breakwater leading to underprediction of wave transmission. This shows that the performance of the model is not affected significantly by scale changes and the model has the potential to be used in real applications. Outputs under these conditions also showed good agreement. The proposed model was assessed under larger scale conditions with data collected in another wave tank with different laboratory facilities. The model gave the most reliable and convincing predictions within a specific range of input parameters (interpolation) while outside this range (extrapolation) to some extent, reasonable results were still achieved. The proposed ANN model was validated in three distinct cases of interpolation, extrapolation and larger scale tests. The ANN model predictions have also been compared with results from the MIKE 21 BW model. Predictions from the proposed ANN model were found to be in very good agreement with new laboratory data never seen by the model before. The RBF model trained by non-dimensional parameters was determined as the most appropriate tool and was proven to be more capable of handling wave transmission prediction comparing with other ANN models. This confirms the importance of 3D effects on wave height prediction and highlights the inadequacy of 2D models that are unable to deal with spatial variation of wave height behind the breakwater. Investigations illustrated that the dimensionless Cartesian coordinates x/L₀ and y/L₀ were the most significant parameter in the 3D wave field around the breakwater, with wave height and energy varying spatially around the structure. In cases with waves breaking over the breakwater the lower wave heights were observed behind the breakwater crown on the shorewardside for nonbreaking wave conditions passing over the submerged breakwater lower wave heights were observed in the gap between the end of the breakwater and the flume wall. The spatial variations of wave energy and wave pattern around the breakwater were generally found to depend on incident wave climate and whether or not wave breaking occurred over the breakwater as well as degree of breaking, with different wave patterns observed for different wave conditions. To verify the numerical model, wave simulation was also carried out using DHI MIKE 21 BW (2DH Boussinesq Wave module) based on the numerical solution of the time domain formulations of Boussinesq type equations. Multi-layer perceptron (MLP) and Radial basis function (RBF) models were designed and trained by the Levenberg-Marquardt learning algorithm (LM) and a derivative- based algorithm of gradient descent (GD) respectively. A method has been prepared for predicting the waves transmitted behind the breakwaters based on the data-driven algorithms called Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and using some of the experimental data collected. A comprehensive set of 2D and 3D experiments has been conducted in three wave tanks with different scales. This encouraged the author to investigate this subject experimentally and numeri¬cally, with the aim of contributing to this important research topic. There are very few studies considering 3D effects in the literature and consequently no reliable guidance for engineers. However, available 2D engineering design tools are inefficient in breakwater design due to not being able to provide any information on the spatial distribution of the nearshore wave field around the breakwater. The 2D aspects of wave transmission behind submerged breakwaters have been extensively studied by researchers. Shoreline response to submerged breakwaters is particularly influenced by the wave field behind the structure driven by coastal processes. I mentioned to him that I wish Competition Mode had more stages to choose from. I then remembered an opinion that I had shared with my cousin one day while playing Sonic Mania with him. This test was to see if I could add more "VSZones" entities into the level select, and yes I could! With this new-found knowledge, it was time to strike and make something out of it. It worked (as you could probably guess)! I knew I had something on my hands, so I decided to do another test. Upon finding them, I immediately took the opportunity and edited one to take me to another stage. This entity controls where the level select icons take you. While doing so, I stumbled upon the entity known as "VSZones". Back in January of 2018, I was messing around in the menu of Sonic Mania trying to see if I could alter the background in any way because I was bored and wanted something to mod. Here's the interesting backstory for this mod. With Competition Plus Version 5, Fun is Infinite. Ever had the thought about how cool it would be if all stages could be played in Competition Mode? Well thanks to this mod, you now absolutely can! All stages from both Mania Mode and Encore Mode are now fully playable in Competition Mode with up to 4 people! Even Custom Zones tag along for the ride! Have a trip into space with Gust Planet Zone or take it slow with Isolated Island Zone for example. Timothy the Mouse, who (along with Dumbo) heard this, convinces the Ringmaster in his sleep to make Dumbo the climax so that Mrs. Later, he talks to his assistant Joe about a pachyderm pyramid, but has no clue what his climax will be. Jumbo into the barrel where Dumbo was bathed in earlier.įurious, the Ringmaster has the "mad elephant" locked up in a cage. However, the Ringmaster, not having seen the kids bullying Dumbo, tries to stop her along with a group of circus guards, only to be thrown by Mrs. Jumbo, Dumbo's mother, starts attacking them in an attempt to protect her son. When some mean kids start to make fun of Dumbo's big ears, Mrs. He is seen again leading the circus parade after they've arrived at their first city. He is first seen when a tender engine named Casey Junior is all loaded and ready to go, and shouts "All aboard!" and the tender engine whistles back "All aboard! Let's go!". Despite his strictness, the Ringmaster does recognize talent and does honor all of Dumbo's requests upon seeing his flying capabilities even though Dumbo humilated the Ringmaster during his first flight. Jumbo only attacked Smitty because he went under the Circus's safety rope to harass her baby and a recurring gag with the Ringmaster involves him tumbling into a barrel of water. The animals of the circus, in particular the elephants and Timothy Mouse, do not think too highly of the Ringmaster, finding him pompous, oblivious and oafish-the latter two of which isn't entirely untrue, as he missed that Mrs. He may be, at his worst, a man running a circus in an extremely questionable manner. ĭespite this, he is never shown to be quite as outwardly malicious as other villains introduced before or after him: his antagonistic actions against the Jumbo family (including separating mother and son) can be seen as answers to their seemingly dangerous behavior (going crazy against circus guests and ruining an albeit already dangerous stunt), however, it is also quite likely because of a disappointing performances for the audience for the latter. Īccording to animation historian John Canemaker, this was purposefully done as Dumbo has a cynical outlook on the traveling circus industry, highlighting how the entire setup is nothing more than a cheap, often sadistic illusion. Though early drawings exist of the Ringmaster trying to teach Dumbo the pyramid. His treatment of the animals (specifically the elephants) is also an indication of the Ringmaster's callousness, as he carelessly has them perform impossible and life-threatening stunts as a means to draw in box office revenue, the best example of it is the Pyramid of Pachyderms (implied to not have even be rehearsed once). It is mentioned by the clowns that he underpays his employees greatly, with the clowns all eventually asking him for a raise. While an average and human agenda, his manner of doing so is extremely dubious, with several moments throughout the film hinting at the Ringmaster's nature behind closed doors. A funny looking bird is dropping presents ev'rywhere. The Ringmaster is a stereotypical showman and businessman, with his main objective being to put on a decent, and entertaining show for profit. If we look at other 2ndary engravings that are good but not BiS, we can see Master's Tenacity + Master of Ambush is 100 to 150g a legendary stone. Yeah, those are pretty damn expensive and the chance of cutting a 6/6 stone is somewhere around ~12% so I might have to cut 8+ stones to get 6/6 stone and something like Master's Tenacity + Cursed Doll is 1,000 to 1,500 gold per stone so we could easily blow 10k+ gold and not get the stone we need. So for a Mayhem Zerker, Master's Tenacity is my primary non-class engraving and my 2ndary would be something like Cursed Doll, Grudge, RC, KBW. Step 1 - Choose your 2 NON-class engravings out of multiple engraving options. Not what they say is always true but they are right in this case. Also, engravings are a great investment and dirt cheap if we are not going for orange books and only going for purple at 1370. I hear from streamers to not sink your money on accessories but a well cut ability stone will last you a while. I'd have to wait for next week at a chance at RNG but I decided to take advantage of the oversaturated market (Auction House).īad accessories almost don't exist on the AH because they are instantly dismantled and never sell even when listed so we have a surplus of decent accessories for dirt cheap since meta engravings are the only thing most people consider. Once hard mode dungeons were done, I got 1 good ring and 1 decent necklace. I ran hard mode abyssal dungeons and it was rough being undergeared compared to a lot of higher ilvl people. I was running 3x2x1 Berserker engravings and focused on the correct stats (crit) for my class. Once I hit 1370, I didn't have much gold and silver left to gear up to fight Hard mode abyssal dungeons and phase 1 Argos. Hey Everyone, like many of you, I felt troubled trying to gear up to fight Argos. |
